3-Day Immersion Anatomy of Movement® Course Breathing Kinetics & Vertebral Mobility in Yoga with Andrea Traldi & Sanja Hurem
As yoga enters the 21st century, anatomically informed practice is becoming more relevant than ever. This growing evolution towards safe yoga is calling practitioners of all backgrounds to discover a new asana practice that is precise, sustainable and responsive to the needs of each unique body.
Anatomy of Movement® is today’s leading methodology to study anatomy in motion; with 40+ years of research and education, it has a track record of empowering yogis into the next level of expertise. Founded by research pioneer Blandine Calais-Germain, AoM courses are known for a dynamic experience that fosters creative and analytical anatomy skills.
During this 25-hr AoM training immersion, we will use movement, discussion and partner work to learn about:
• The different structures of the spine and how they coordinate with breathing kinetics
• Analyzing each body in the most popular yoga postures
• The many possible ways to create the most expansive breath during yoga practice
• Identifying and preventing common anatomical issues in yoga practice
• Practical strategies to create classes that respect the unique body of each student
Whether you are curious yogi, someone considering a YTT or a teacher with experience, this immersion will provide you with an exciting toolkit to work with the fascinating human anatomy. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate from the Wellco Yoga Anatomy AoM program along with access to an online course content platform.
Andrea is the head of programs for the Anatomy of Movement® international hub in Barcelona, Spain. He is a senior practitioner of AoM, building on years of direct study with the school’s founder. He skillfully adapts the method's vast repertoire to the needs of each individual using hands-on experiences and embodied learning.
Sanja Hurem is a yoga and anatomy teacher responsible for bringing the teachings of AoM to the wider yoga community. She specializes in courses that are practical and address the needs of yogis while staying true to the method’s comprehensive character.
