A performance of rebirth, light and new cycles

This Easter weekend, Padma Musical Series returns with an extraordinary international trio: acclaimed pianist Ivan Yanakov, celebrated French violinist Ambroise Aubrun, and leading Indonesian cellist Bryant Gozali.

Together, they present AWAKENING — a powerful musical journey from darkness to light. Featuring masterworks by Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Fauré, alongside evocative contemporary pieces by Philip Glass and Max Richter, the evening unfolds as an emotional arc of renewal, reflection and new beginnings.

Ivan Yanakov (Bulgaria)
Internationally acclaimed pianist and conductor who has performed in over 30 countries, including Carnegie Hall (New York), Cadogan Hall (London), Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and Sydney Town Hall. Known for his expressive interpretations and commanding presence, Yanakov brings both technical brilliance and emotional depth to this special performance.

Ambroise Aubrun (France)
Described as a “marvellous violinist” by France Musique, Aubrun is an internationally respected recitalist, chamber musician and recording artist. Associate Professor of Violin at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he has premiered more than 30 contemporary works and collaborated with artists including Herbie Hancock and Pink Martini.

Bryant Gozali (Indonesia)
Co-Principal Cellist of the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra and founding member of the Jakarta Trio, Bryant is widely regarded for his musical leadership and refined chamber artistry. A familiar and much-loved presence at Padma Musical Series, he returns as an integral part of this opening concert of the 2026 season.

From the dramatic intensity of Mendelssohn and Beethoven to the lyricism of Rachmaninoff and Fauré, and the cinematic beauty of Philip Glass and Max Richter, AWAKENING unfolds as an emotional journey from reflection to renewal.

Set within the elegant Plumeria Grand Ballroom at Padma Resort Legian, this special concert promises to be one of Bali’s most captivating cultural evenings of the season.
