BALI CIAO
Bali Ciao follows a journey both inward and outward into the heart of Bali.
The island is far more than a backdrop: it becomes a living presence, a place to be explored, listened to, and questioned.
Chapter by chapter, the protagonist is gradually drawn into the rituals, gestures, and contradictions of Balinese culture, allowing each encounter and experience to call hiscertainties into question and open up new reflections on the meaning of the journey, identity, and belonging.
Blending documentary observation with narrative storytelling, the film traces a path of discovery in which the journey gradually becomes immersion, confrontation, and transformation.
Bali Ciao is not only a portrait of a place, but also a reflection on the way a place can reshape the gaze of those who pass through it.
