Join us for our 2-day workshop designed specifically for INTENSIVE lv. who want to explore new movements and enhance their existing skills in a supportive and creative environment. this workshop will focus on refining your techniques, expanding your improvisational capabilities, and developing a deeper understanding & foundation for CI practice.

 

in this 2 days INTENSIVE workshop, you can expect,

-Classical definition of Contact improvisation

-Safety and consentment of the practice

-Dynamic rolls and falls

-Musicality and improvisation

-Advanced partnering skills

-Balance and counterbalance

-Suspension/Momentum /Fluidity 

-Exploration of advanced partnering

-Lifts, rolls, and spirals in various levels of height

 They will provide modifications and progressions to accommodate different levels of experience and skill. This workshop will focus on building a strong foundation for the dancer at any level, ensuring that all participants can learn and progress at their own pace.

The workshop will not only provide participants with a deeper understanding of contact improvisation but also equip them with the skills necessary to dance it safely and confidently.

 

Roman Singh 

Roman is a highly experienced and skilled contact improvisation instructor with over 12 years of teaching experience. He has a proven track record of excellence in both teaching open-level classes and working with professional choreographers. Roman's contributions to the global dance community are innumerable, having orchestrated over 50 contact festivals and countless workshops across the world over the past five years. 

 

Roman's approach is characterized by a deep-rooted understanding of the psychological nuances that underpin the practice of contact improvisation, which enables him to connect with his students on a deeper level. He is a consummate professional with a passion for teaching, committed to guiding dancers of all levels toward realizing their full potential.

 

Fay yeoun Kim

Fay has a diverse background in ballet, contemporary, and Korean traditional dance as a performer in her youth. With a passion for movement and self-expression, Fay discovered the beauty and liberation of contact improvisation and has been drawn to practice for the past six years.

For her, contact dance is not just a physical practice but a way to dive into the unknown, surrender, and truly liberate herself. She values the profound impact that contact improvisation has on life - from the ability to listen, tune into herself, communicate and interact with others. With a wealth of performance experience and a deep understanding of the art form, Fay is excited to share her passion and skills with others, and guide them on their own journey of discovery through contact improvisation.
