Delve into the world of Contact Improvisation (CI), a dynamic movement practice that emerged in the 1970s as a revolutionary approach to dance and human connection. Rooted in the exploration of touch, shared weight, and spontaneous movement, CI invites us to rediscover our bodies' innate wisdom and connect with others in a playful and authentic way.

In this event, we will:

•⁠ ⁠Trace the lineage of CI: Uncover the origins and evolution of this unique dance form, from its roots in postmodern dance and martial arts to its current global presence as a vibrant community of movers and shakers.
•⁠ ⁠Learn fundamental CI techniques: Discover the core principles of rolling, falling, lifting, and following a point of contact, and how to apply them in a safe and supportive environment.
•⁠ ⁠Unleash your improvisational spirit: Experiment with spontaneous movement, listen to your body's impulses, and co-create dynamic dances with fellow participants.
•⁠ ⁠Cultivate body awareness and presence: Through guided warm-ups, exercises, and partner work, develop a deeper connection to your body and its sensations.
•⁠ ⁠Foster connection and community: Experience the joy of collaborative movement, build trust and rapport with others, and celebrate the diversity of bodies and movement styles.

Whether you're a seasoned CI practitioner or a curious newcomer, this event offers a welcoming space to explore the transformative power of movement, touch, and human connection. No prior dance experience is necessary. Come as you are, ready to move, connect, and discover the magic of Contact Improvisation.

• For special class, workshop and night event, Children under the age of 10 are not permitted to join , there are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. Children ages 10-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or sibling that is over 18
