Kirtan with Diana & Friends (In honor of World Mental Health Awareness Day)
A Kirtan, In honor of World Menatal Health Awareness Day
Samyama Self Healing Center is hosting a Kirtan with Diana & Friends in the lead-up to World Mental Health Day, an evening of mantra, music, and community, a space to breathe, connect, and be reminded that no one has to carry things alone. Proceeds support Bali Bersama Bisa Foundation.
On Thursday, October 8th, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Samyama is hosting Kirtan with Diana & Friends at its space in Ubud, Bali, an evening of call and response chanting open to everyone, regardless of experience.
What Is Kirtan, and Why Ubud Keeps Coming Back to It
Kirtan is a beautiful way to come together, to sing, listen, connect, and simply be present. In a world that often asks us to hold things quietly, this practice offers the opposite: a room full of people breathing, chanting, and showing up for one another.
Come exactly as you are. You are welcome to sing, dance, sit in meditation, listen quietly, or simply enjoy being part of the community. No previous experience with kirtan or mantra is needed. There is no performance and no expectation, just an invitation to show up, and to know you're not alone in showing up.
As part of this initiative, a portion of proceeds will go to Bali Bersama Bisa Foundation, a Bali-based non-profit providing free mental health and addiction support services, including counseling, peer support groups, and community programs, to anyone who needs them. Samyama is proud to put its platform behind an organization doing this work locally.

Inside Kirtan with Diana & Friends
This gathering is led by Diana, accompanied by a small ensemble on harmonium, guitar, mridanga, and karatals. Together, they guide the room through a rising arc, starting in quiet, meditative repetition and building, as the evening unfolds, into rhythm, movement, and celebration.
You do not need to know the words. You do not need to be able to sing. The invitation is simple: listen to the melody, join when you feel ready, and let the music carry you.
For Diana, kirtan is above all a practice of connection, connection to yourself, to the people around you, and to something larger. The chanting becomes a way to slow down, clear the noise of the day, and reconnect with qualities like courage, compassion, gratitude, and joy.
Why This Kirtan Is Happening on World Mental Health Awareness Day
Samyama chose September 8th deliberately. World Mental Health Awareness Day exists to remind people, in very concrete terms, that they are not alone, and that reaching out is always possible. A room full of people breathing and chanting together is, in its own way, a physical expression of that same message.
