Japan Vibrations Vol. 1 is Alex from Tokyo's sonic memoir of Japanese electronic music from the mid 80s to mid 90s. Drawn from his formative years in Tokyo, it gathers eleven tracks, from pioneers Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yasuaki Shimizu to Silent Poets and Mondo Grosso. The selection spans ambient, dub, deep house, new jazz and techno, remastered in high fidelity by Isao Kumano and sequenced like a DJ set.

At this Listening Session, Alex plays the album in full on the Klymax sound system, followed by a conversation about the records, clubs and people behind them.
