Desert x Indonesian Fusion Neo is a multi-instrumentalist and instrument builder from Central Java whose music bridges worlds. Deeply inspired by traditional North West African craft and rhythm, he blends the raw, hypnotic sounds of the Sahara with the earthy melodies of Indonesian folk music.

Specializing in instruments like the Kora, Ngoni, Guembri, Balafon, and Djembe, Neo not only plays but also handcrafts each instrument with deep respect for its cultural roots. His journey led him to spend several months in Morocco, learning from master musicians and builders — an experience that deepened his connection to Gnawa music and traditional sound.

Neo’s music is a meeting of two landscapes: the wide-open pulse of the desert and the lush spirit of the islands.
