Duncan Bridgeman proudly presents excerpts from his film career. The Grammy nominated 1 Giant Leap and the follow up "What About Me?", his Mexican cult epic Hecho En Mexico (Made in Mexico) and his Smithsonian produced documentary filmed deep inside the 2013 Kumbh Mela presented by actor Dominic West and Yoga master Jim Malllinson.
When he set off in 1999 to film and record 1 Giant Leap, the digital age was just beginning. Social media hadn’t been invented and the world seems more mysterious. The themes of modern life have remained of course. Duncan will go into the non linear approach to creativity that he follows. The idea of the Self-Determined art form where the artist is following the creation rather than leading it, and also discussing how the film and music making world has transformed into the fragmented world of self expression we inhabit today.
DUNCAN BRIDGEMAN is a double-Grammy nominated filmmaker and musician. He has composed and produced music for 40 years. His first break into filmmaking came from Island Records/Palm Pictures owner Chris Blackwell, making the Grammy nominated cult hit 1 Giant Leap. In 2004, Simon Fuller produced the second 1 Giant Leap, project “What About Me?”. Bridgeman followed with the award winning film Hecho en Mexico (2012), produced by Mexican media mogul Emilio Azcárraga. He then directed and composed the music for “West Meets East”(2013);a documentary for The Smithsonian Institution about the Hindu festival Kumbh Mela with actor Dominic West (The Wire, 300, The Affair) as presenter.
In the last few years he has returned to his roots of composing and record producing. Producing Nessi Gomes “ Diamonds ad Demons” ; a collection of Brazilian songs “Ogunde” with Raja and a Kundalini Yoga album “Adi Shakti” with Erin Breech.
Bridgeman is currently in production with "The Magic Plant”B, A documentary about plant medicine and the religion of Bwiti in Gabon, and in development for his latest documentary “Good Medicine”
