Samasta Lestari
SAMASTA LESTARI
A Harmonious Universe
December 20-21
A two-day charity and awareness gathering at Solana Retreat Centre, Bali.
This December, as the solstice invites us to pause and reorient ourselves to the light, we gather for Samasta Lestari, a two-day space to reflect on what is happening in our world, how we show up for others, and how we hold multiple truths at once.
Because two realities can coexist: we can still build joy, presence, and community in our own lives, while also acknowledging that elsewhere, devastation is unfolding.
WHY WE GATHER
Sumatera is facing a crisis that goes beyond a single natural disaster.
Recent floods caused by a tropical cyclone were made exponentially worse by years of deforestation. Entire villages have been washed away. As of early December 2025, nearly 1000 people have lost their lives, and more than 500 remain missing, 1,1 M are displaced, and 3,3 M affected. Many still have no aid because access roads have disappeared. And in the middle of the chaos, some communities are forced to make elephants work to clear debris, a heartbreaking reflection of how survival pressures distort the natural world.
Palestine continues to endure a daily humanitarian catastrophe.
This is not about religion or politics. It is about children playing in rubble instead of playgrounds. Families searching for clean water. People going to sleep hungry, grieving, or afraid, with no certainty of safety. It is about the human cost of conflict and the collective responsibility to keep their stories alive.
Samasta Lestari is not only about how much money we raise. In the scale of the casualties and the suffering, any amount we contribute may feel like a speck in the galaxy and yet it matters, because they need funding, yes, but they also desperately need people who validate that their situation is urgent, real, and seen.
It is about remembering deeply and honestly that we are connected. It is about staying awake. It is about practicing compassion with action, not avoidance. And it is about learning how to care for our mental and emotional health while witnessing a world in pain.

THE HEART OF THIS EVENT
We are not gathering to celebrate abundance while others face loss.
We are gathering because this is how we honor our shared humanity by showing up with presence, with awareness, and with the willingness to care even when the world feels heavy.
Join us for a weekend of remembering, reflecting, and standing together.
Your presence matters. Your awareness matters. Your willingness to keep the light alive matters.
CLOSING NOTE ON DONATIONS
We welcome additional donations for both causes. All funds raised for Sumatera will be doubled by Solana. If you wish to contribute a larger amount, our accountant will assist with the process and provide full proof of transfer and distribution.
