Our Speaker
Jeroen van Overbeek is the Co-Founder & CEO of BaliCoop, and Co-Founder of Social Impakt. He is also an Ex-Corporate Executive turned Social Entrepreneur, with a career that spans over 30 years.
His passion lies in improving the livelihoods of underprivileged people with access to safe and affordable technologies/tools that enhance their everyday life, in water filtration, and regenerative agriculture with a positive impact on the environment.
Jeroen led teams across borders and cultures, in both emerging and developed markets. He can converse in 7 languages, amongst which are Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia.
Jeroen currently runs / co-runs 3 start-ups, he is a fervent supporter of gender equality and mentors young entrepreneurs, empowering them to achieve their greatness. At this event, Jeroen will be sharing about the impact of non-organic food on the environment and on the water we all need, and the work BaliCoop and Social Impakt have been doing on these fronts.
BaliCoop is a fair trade and sustainable platform for organic fruits and vegetables from farm to table, serving hotels, restaurants, and organic markets across Bali with premium organic produce. Their goal is to bring healthy food at affordable prices to everyone on the island while paying farmers more than they would get paid through their regular distribution network.
Social Impakt is a Bali based social enterprise whose mission is to improve access to clean drinking water in rural Indonesia by providing a simple and affordable water filtration technology. Social Impakt has to-date positively impacted 340 000 people with access to clean drinking water, saved 17,150 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions and reduced plastic bottle use by 130 million units.
